Why are my sequence emails not sending or sending slowly?
Last updated: December 22, 2025
If your email sequences aren't sending or are sending more slowly than expected, there are several common causes and solutions to check.
LinkedIn Steps
The most common reason steps in Pin would be sending slower than usual is if there is a LinkedIn Connection or a LinkedIn Message in step 1 or 2 of a sequence.
LinkedIn typically limits accounts to 20 Connection requests per day and LinkedIn Messages are limited by the number of InMail credits you have on your account.
If you are finding that a LinkedIn step is holding up your sequence, our best recommendation is to:
Delete the LinkedIn step
Add it back in to the end of your sequence so that your emails can go out first
DO NOT reorder steps on live sequences because that will misalign candidates who are mid-way through the sequence flow.
Email Schedule Settings
The most common reason for paused emails is your email schedule settings. Check the following:
Email/Outreach Preferences: Ensure the current day and time falls within your allowed send windows. If not, add a time block that includes the current time.
Holidays/Custom Dates: If "Pause on holidays/custom dates" is enabled, remove today from "Manage Dates" or turn off this setting.
Automation Settings: In your job's Automation section, make sure "Send Outreach Emails" is enabled.
Daily Limits: Confirm your sequence's daily outreach limit is greater than 0 and high enough for your needs.
Normal Email Sending Speed
By default, Pin sends emails every 2 minutes to prevent your messages from being flagged as automated spam. This is normal behavior and helps maintain good email deliverability. If you have 65 candidates in a sequence, it will take several hours to send all emails.
Individual Candidate Pauses
Sometimes individual candidates may be paused separately from the global sequence settings. Check if specific candidates show pause errors in your sequence dashboard. These individual pauses need to be cleared separately from the main sequence controls.
Account and Billing Issues
If emails have stopped sending entirely, check that:
Your account subscription is active and payment information is up to date
Your email account is properly connected and supported (Pin only supports Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace)
When to Contact Support
If you've checked all the above settings and emails still aren't sending after several hours, or if you see specific error messages, contact support for assistance. The support team can check for technical issues with your account's email sending engine.
